The end of 2025 and start of 2026 have been a busy and productive period for the myfood24® database team. We are pleased to announce the release of two new international versions of the myfood24® system, alongside significant updates to our existing UK database.

  • Over 4,800 food and drink products
  • Hundreds of foods with portion images
  • Data on 138 nutrient variables
  • Dutch system translation

myfood24® Canada has been developed using the Canadian Nutrient File (2015) (Fichier canadien sur les éléments nutritifs (FCÉN)), creating a comprehensive food composition database specific to the Canadian context. It includes commonly consumed foods and traditional dishes relevant to the Canadian population.

Our nutrition-led database team has carefully adapted this dataset to ensure it meets the high standards required for research and professional use.

  • Over 5,700 food and drink products
  • Hundreds of foods with portion images
  • Data on up to 160 nutrient variables
  • Available in English and French

In addition to these new international releases, we have expanded the UK database. We have increased the number of available nutrient variables from 120 to 140. Newly added variables include amino acids, as well as nutrition scores such as HFSS and NOVA.

A full list of the 140 UK database variables is available in our English (UK) Food Items table.

Alongside our UK updates, we have also enhanced several of our existing international databases through the process of overstamping. As part of this work, total sugar and individual sugar variables have been overstamped within our US and Spanish datasets.

Overstamping is carried out by our team of nutrition experts enabling enhancement of nutritional data where values may be missing or incomplete. This process allows us to provide a more detailed and complete nutritional profile. Supporting more robust dietary analysis and a clearer nutrition breakdown for our customers.

These datasets form part of a growing list of myfood24® databases that include overstamped nutrient values. Currently, overstamping is applied across our UK generic and branded, French, US, and Spanish databases, helping to ensure consistency, completeness, and high data quality across our database offering.

Looking Ahead

More database updates are planned throughout the year. Our dedicated database team continues to enhance and expand our offerings, ensuring that all myfood24® databases remain accurate, comprehensive, and fit for purpose.
